Scott J. Sterling is the is the founder of Sterling Law Firm, APC , a seasoned California attorney with over two decades of legal experience. Scott’s career is marked by a rich history of advocating for clients in personal injury, construction, business disputes and insurance claims. 

A former partner at a national law firm, Scott has formerly represented construction companies, public entities, international manufacturers, and London and U.S. insurers in casualty and property claims. These matters involved numerous industries, including manufacturing, construction, and warehouse/distribution and often touched on multi-jurisdictional issues. He has also served as monitoring counsel for London-based insurers for high exposure U.S. claims.

Scott has extensive litigation experience including the following:

• Defended national general contracting company in construction defect litigation and two-and-a-half-month jury trial brought by a homeowners’ association. 
• Defended international construction and project management company in six-month arbitration as well as the related Federal Court case and appeal to the Ninth Circuit.
• Assisted in defense of accountant at trial regarding conflict of interest and misrepresentation in the sale of business.
• Assisted in defense of bookkeeper who was alleged to have covered up accountant’s alleged misappropriation of funds of a celebrity client.

Scott has multiple published appellate decisions including Palp, Inc. v. Williamsburg National Insurance Company (2011) 200 Cal.App.4th 282.

Scott was admitted to practice in California in 2002, Scott is also admitted to practice in the US District Court for the Central District of California as well as the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He was also included in Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Rising Stars from 2013 to 2016.
